An early present

Since everyone enjoys embarrassing things from my past, I thought I would share a recently discovered gem with you all that I found while cleaning out a box of journals. I give you........

A Forced Letter To Myself about my "Plans"
By: Me
At: A Lame Young Women's Activity

Dear Me,
I have basically no plans for the future. I hope to make a lot of money. I want to marry a politician because that means I will have to have nice clothes and a big house for entertaining. If I don't get married by around 21, I'll have a high paying career of my own. I have no spiritual plans. I know I will graduate from college. I will complete my Mia Maid and Laurel awards because my mother is forcing me. I will own all of the Judith McNaught books(trashy romance novels). I will read every sequel to Gone With The Wind just to see if they can make anything worse than Scarlett with Joanne Whalley-Kilmer. These are my plans.

Wow. I have said I was Daria in high school. Now I have proof. A money grubbing Daria.
This letter made me bust a gut laughing.

wow... You had BIG plans back then! But at leaset you had a contingency for if you weren't married by the ripe old age of 21 :)

Oh, that Joanne Whalley-Kilmer sequel! I forgot all about that hideous piece of crap. "Oh, Rhett! I've moved to Ireland where I had our love child, claiming that my husband died when asked about my pregnancy by the townsfolk so they wouldn't know I was a whore. Where else should I have gone or done?" Ugh. WHORE-IBLE. (Get it? Ha-ha! Eh, I know that pun was stupid.)

Anyhoo, I love how you didn't even try to take the letter writing seriously. Greatness.

I love it! It is pure greatness! I always tried to sound super smart when i wrote them, I too thought sure I will be married by 20 and if not there is a good reason, like I am living it up:D Sadly the smart ones are never married by the "ripe old age" just the dumb ones that can laugh and smile at all the stupid joke dumb men can throw at them:D I am NOT bitter!

I CAN"T BELIEVE this is real! Girl, I always knew you were fabulous, but this is the icing on the cake! (I, too, have always felt an affinity to Daria. "You're standing on my neck.")

I'm laughing on the dark-abysmal inside.... heh heh....

I think I have one of those letters too (shudder) I remember seeing it years ago maybe when i moved home from college. I think it made me realize what a freaking moron I was at 18 and hastily shoved it back wherever it was.

Wow E.T. I really admire the teen angst and rebellion behind that letter. Unfortunately I was too goody goody to ever write anything like that until I was in college. I might have said it in the safety of my own home once or twice on occasion but I would have never put it down on paper. Love you!
